Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Master Warranty Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Anderson, IN facility. Relocation assistance is offered for this position. Position Overview: The primary function of this position is to Receive, inspect, test and disposition product to support warranty claim adjudication in a timely manner, while administering to warranty guidelines, processes, procedures achieving and sustaining claim quality goals. Administer warranty policies and procedures supporting the adjudication for each product and customer with respect to the warranty return center responsibilities. Identify, recommend and implement approved changes to warranty administration, policies, costs, or failure mode trends. Deploy process to audit of each of Eaton Business System elements (safety, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and EHS) policies and procedures for this location. Accomplish assigned tasks while complying with all safety, 5S and EHS. Collaborate problem-solving efforts for process and technical continuous improvement. Responsible for Perform and contribute in and maintaining a collaborative and productive environment. Role Model aligned with the Eaton Leadership Competencies. Perform and contribute as the Product and Process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for training on warranty policies, guidelines, inspection, testing and failure analysis of products associated with warranty return center operations. Subject Matter Expert identifying current and emerging failure trends. Communicate observances to Warranty Managers and Supervisors, appropriate Engineer, technical expert, or Reliability team. Perform and contribute to the WRC in supplier warranty management, Reliability Engineering project and initiatives by completing detailed technical product failure analysis, product testing results and material disposition. Consolidate and ship product as approved by Supervisor. Perform basic preventive maintenance, calibration and repairs for the test equipment. Lead and manage purchases to support the Warranty Return Center Operations within budgets. Minimum one (1) year experience working in a technical role supporting commercial vehicle, heavy equipment or automotive products. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in technical or business field. Demonstration of effective communication and use of data / data analysis to support communication. Working knowledge or the ability to rapidly learn and deploy warranty process and procedures Experience using and sustainable deployment of Lean philosophy of Continuous Improvement; Including Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Improvement and Business Process Improvement. Experience with software packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and Power Point etc.) Position Criteria: Demonstration of Eaton Leadership Model. Must be self-motivated, passionate and accountable to achieve results with minimal guidance. Contribute to the morning start up meeting, collaborate work assignments per the daily priority communication. Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects. Strong organizational and communication (written & oral) skills to all levels of the organization. Excellent customer facing skills, including effective conflict resolution and utilization of a collaborative style to resolve disputes of warranty claims with employees and customers. Knowledgeable of truck products nomenclature, understanding of transmission and clutches: power flow, basic mechanical and electrical failure analysis, and failure modes. Knowledgeable in Eaton warranty systems, knowledge base systems, and reference data bases. Usage and understanding of variable and attribute gages. Demonstration of sound problem solving skills. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. frequently, 75 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to continuously stand, twist, bend, squat, stoop, lift, maneuver, and walk. Must be able to pass tests and be licensed by Eaton to operate forklift and safely use hand and power tools in an industrial environment.
