ROLE SUMMARY

This role is an opportunity to be an integral part of the upcoming launch of Pfizer's pneumococcal next generation vaccine (PCV20). A significant advance on Pfizer's $6B Prevnar 13 franchise, PCV20 is expected to help protect millions more people around the world from pneumococcal disease. The customer education and innovation lead will shape and drive strategies and tools to meaningfully engage customers in the pandemic and post-pandemic "new normal" world. In addition to owning a best in class medical education program (including but not limited to symposia, speaker programs, congresses), this role will champion cutting-edge omnichannel marketing approaches throughout the PCV Adult team, ensuring the continued efforts to drive uptake of PCV13 and to launch PCV20 incorporate the most innovative strategies and tools to reach our customers. This role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of applying Pfizer's new customer engagement approach (Bold Move 3.3) to a major, high-profile launch. The ideal candidate thrives on challenging the status quo and driving Pfizer firsts and will report directly to the Global Adult Franchise Lead.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Champion innovative omnichannel strategies and tools across marketing team to ensure customer engagement efforts are optimized to support HCP and patient needs in the pandemic and post-pandemic world
  • Liaise with Bold Move 3.3 Agile team (Pfizer's internal team driving new customer engagement model) and Pfizer subject matter experts (Digital, Customer Experience) to identify best practices in customer engagement content creation and execution
  • Partner with PCV Adult franchise HCP and Consumer leads to ensure real-time incorporation of new, innovative approaches to optimize customer engagement in the context of Bold Move 3.3
Partner with Medical Affairs to support PCV13 uptake (near-term) and drive rapid PCV20 awareness across the countries at launch by developing a best in class medical education strategy and tactical plan, including symposia, speaker programs, digital / virtual innovative outreach
  • Actively work with Glocal team to identify education goals, metrics, and co-create initiatives to support PCV13 uptake and PCV20 launch
  • Partner with BU and regional leads to ensure markets are ready to implement programs to reach broad base of opinion leaders and vaccinators
  • Create innovative partnerships with 3rd party medical associations and KOLs to amplify education efforts
  • Manage KOL engagement, including KOL mapping, advisory boards and other KOL consultation and insights generation efforts in close collaboration with medical, public affairs, and Opinion Leader management team
Partner with other asset teams within Vaccines to amplify Pfizer's leadership position in pneumococcal vaccines and more broadly, respiratory disease prevention
  • Contribute to the development and rollout of a "respiratory disease protection" narrative to capitalize on increased interest in adult vaccination
  • Leverage Pfizer's increasingly broad portfolio of respiratory vaccines to establish reputation as a leader in the prevention of respiratory disease through greater visibility, presence, and partnership with external stakeholders
  • Contribute to cross-franchise efforts to elevate Pfizer's reputation as a trailblazer in vaccines development
  • Manage partner agency(ies) performance, budget, launch milestone tracking
  • Actively network across the new asset teams to leverage learnings, best practices for omnichannel campaign development and rollout
  • Conduct all responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, with a strong adherence to our Values including full compliance with all policies that guide medical education, congress, symposia, ad board and KOL/speaker engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA or BS required; MBA or scientific background (ie RN/PharmD) preferred
  • 10+ years pharma experience, fewer will be considered with advanced degree
  • Vaccines experience a plus
  • Experience in HCP and customer marketing strategy; medical education, KOL development, digital as well as more traditional communication channels and tactics
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and complex "white space" environments
  • Flexible in scope of work and open to reprioritization of brand/portfolio needs to drive business objectives
  • Be an active contributor to create and operate in an environment that continuously embraces and encourages the implementation of innovative ideas and fosters a culture of collaboration and teamwork

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

North American (prefer NYHQ or Collegeville) or European hub-based role with international travel of up to 20% (subject to pandemic travel guidelines set by Pfizer)
